EffecTech vacancy – Gas Quality Engineer

EffecTech is looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join its Site Services department as a Gas Quality Engineer providing inspection and calibration services at our clients’ sites in the energy and gas industry worldwide.

The Gas Quality Engineers attend customers’ sites to undertake inspections of the gas quality measurement system and validations/calibrations of the gas chromatographs and other gas quality instrumentation.

This role involves extensive travel, primarily within the UK, but also overseas.  Once fully trained, the engineer’s time will split between customer site visits and office-based work including data analysis and report generation.  EffecTech maintains a fleet of vehicles for UK travel.

The successful applicant will receive full training in all technical methods and skills required for this role.

EffecTech vacancy – Gas Quality Engineer

Salary range

Salary range will be between £19,000-£25,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience. In addition, the successful candidate will receive an off-shore and overseas allowance and will be enrolled in the company bonus and pension schemes.

Required skills and experience

Applicants should have:

  • a degree qualification in a science discipline, or at least three years’ experience in a related technical field
  • excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for dealing on a regular one-to-one basis with clients
  • sound organisational ability with the capacity to work individually or within the team on many tasks concurrently
  • a good eye for detail
  • a full, clean driving licence

Desirable skills and experience

Applicants should ideally have:

  • Experience in gas chromatography
  • A good understanding of the principles of measurement

However, full training will be provided.
