Working on EffecTech’s 30th anniversary has reminded me just how much technical knowledge there is within this business, and how much our people care about what they do. Customers shouldn’t need to be gas measurement experts themselves to understand what they need, why it matters and how EffecTech can help, so part of Marketing’s role is to communicate our knowledge and capabilities in a way that is clear, accessible and relevant to them.

Marketing Manager
For me, good marketing starts with having something genuine to communicate. What we say about EffecTech has to reflect what our people actually do and the standards they work to. There is far more knowledge within EffecTech than most customers will ever see, and we have an opportunity to make more of it visible, helping customers understand the expertise, care and attention behind the products and services they receive.
The way people find technical information will continue to change. AI and other digital tools will make independent research quicker and easier, so we need to make useful, accurate information readily available. But information alone isn’t enough. Good communication also means listening, understanding what a customer is trying to achieve and being able to match their requirements to our capabilities, or suggest a different approach where our expertise can help.
In ten years’ time, I want EffecTech still to be recognised as the gas measurement experts, sharing more of our knowledge and expertise, contributing to conversations about new measurement challenges, and still driven by people who care about what they do.
