Frequency

This global proficiency testing scheme is run four times per year (January, April, July & October), for all four gas mixtures shown below. Please see the following table to find out which items are supplied in each round.

*The LNG composition in Q2 and Q4 will not contain carbon dioxide and the nitrogen amount fraction range will be 0.1 - 1 (%mol/mol)

Registering for the scheme
Participants are required to register for the scheme using the enrolment form and indicate the mixtures and round they wish to participate in. Click here to download 

Cylinders

Mixtures 1 & 3 are supplied in 1 litre water capacity high pressure cylinders at approximately 30 bar. Mixtures 2 & 4 are supplied in 5 litre water capacity high pressure cylinders at 4 and 50 bar respectively.

1 The matrix of the sulphur component mixture is made up of methane, ethane and propane in amount fractions that represent a typical natural gas or LNG matrix. In this way the matrix more accurately represents samples which are measured routinely by your laboratory. Participants should measure and report the sulphur containing components only; you are NOT required to report the matrix hydrocarbons in this mixture.


Reporting

Participants are required to report the composition and an estimate of the uncertainty and some physical properties of the gas where appropriate using the reporting template.

Evaluation

Evaluation will be using ISO 17043 approved methods including En ratio and Z scores.

Confidentiality

As mandated by ISO 17043, all data including participants and performance will be kept strictly confidential.  Only the submitting laboratory will receive feedback on their performance.  Performance data will be reported to the whole group anonymously.
